Keely Rose interview: “The adult industry has opened… a different and wonderful perspective on self expression and sexuality [for me].”

Keely Rose is an exciting new star of the adult industry who broke through during the Covid pandemic. At just 23 years old, she has already done a lot in her life and joined us to share a little of her background and how she has found her first year shooting adult movies.

Can I start by asking you how 2020 has been for you, professionally and personally?

I would have to say that 2020 has been both bad and good. I’ve found new hobbies, discovered new places and a new career! On the downside, of course, the lockdowns, masks, and the millions of people who’ve lost their jobs, homes and much more. I am so thankful to have become a part of the adult industry as it has opened doors for me in the mainstream and a different and wonderful perspective on self expression and sexuality. Sex is a wonderful and beautiful thing. Growing up in a strict household with some not so good outlooks and harsh judgment wasn’t easy. I left at 19 and I am 23 now. Over this time, I have grown so much as a person, not to mention the wonderful clothes and things I’ve gotten to buy because of my job. So yes, 2020 was definitely a yin/yang type of deal. “You can’t get the good without the bad.”

Can you tell us a bit about yourself – where you come from, how old you are, what your day to day life is like?

I’m 23 and originally from the Bay Area. On a typical day, you can find me doing things like shopping, hiking and just enjoying life. I like to have fun but I am also very business oriented. It’s important to laugh at yourself and not be too serious though! If I have a bad day, I get Thai tea boba!

Previously I would’ve never done something like that but me being me I like to take risks.

It sounds like you have a good head for business. Can you tell us about your journey into the adult industry and if it’s lived up to expectations?

Just a few years ago, I worked in grocery stores and the restaurant business. I was making $400 a week and working so hard. I remember thinking, there’s got to be a better way. So I looked online and I found a topless bar. It was a cute little hole in the wall type of place. Previously I would’ve never done something like that but me being me I like to take risks and try new things I told myself that if I didn’t like it I wouldn’t have to do it again but just give it one night and go audition. So I did. And from that moment on, I got comfortable with that and then eventually started working at fully nude strip clubs. I enjoy it so much – I love being able to dance and make lots of money. Growing up I was pretty shy. But not anymore! What I was making at the grocery store 400 a week I ended up making that in a night sometimes more! Now every night is different but I was happy.

When all of this pandemic stuff happened, the strip clubs closed and I panicked because I didn’t know what I was going to do. Then I had a friend reach out to me who is in the adult industry. I was very skeptical and not sure if I should go through with this as it might hurt my chances of working in the mainstream (I hope to model, sing and act in western films). But I did it anyway and honestly I don’t regret it: I’ve met a lot of cool people and have experienced lots of cool things. I’ve also learned a lot of things about foot fetishes among other things!

Have you done anything this year that you would normally have done? #CovidMadeMeDoIt #StepOutOfYourComfortZone #BeVersatile. Don’t let anyone tell you you can only be one thing! 🙂

What has been your favourite experience in the industry so far, and which of your scenes are you most proud of?

I love all of my scenes. Everyone has good ones and bad ones but I am thankful that I’ve made it through the pandemic okay so far.

[M]y dream shoot would be something 50s inspired with lots of dialogue.

Are there any people you’d love to work with, or types of shoot you’d like to try out in the future?

Oh my dream shoot would be something 50s inspired with lots of dialogue. Fancy stuff with good lighting!! 🙂

Looking forward, what would you like to achieve in the industry?

I hope to make lots of money and help lots of people.

And outside of the industry, what would you like your future to look like?

I plan on modeling and acting.

When you’re not working, what do you enjoy doing with your free time?

I like to take pictures, watch movies, and eat lots of sushi!

Thank you so much for being with us, we’d love to have you back again. One final question: what should we look out for from you in 2021?

I know just as much as you do! All I want for Christmas is pre-Covid life.

Jagged Velvet's purpose is simple: we give models a space to speak.
